states.

Reported Cases in India:
- Bengaluru, Karnataka: Two infants, a
three-month-old girl and an eight-month-old boy, tested positive for HMPV.
The girl has been discharged, while the boy is currently receiving
treatment.
- Nagpur, Maharashtra: Two cases have been
reported, though specific details about the patients are not disclosed.
- Ahmedabad, Gujarat: One case has been
confirmed, involving a two-month-old boy who contracted the virus.
- Chennai and Salem, Tamil
Nadu: One
case each has been reported in these cities.
In
response to these cases, the Indian Union Health Ministry has stated that there
is no direct connection between the cases in India and the recent surge of HMPV
infections in China. Health officials emphasize that HMPV is a globally present
virus, and the current situation does not warrant alarm.
